देवाः सोमार्कसंस्थानि यथा सत्रादिभिर्मखैः । अमृतान्युपजीवन्ति तथा गङ्गाजलं नराः ॥
English Scholarly Translation
As the celestials support themselves upon the ambrosia that is in the Sun and the Moon and that is offered in various sacrifices, so do human beings support themselves upon Gangawater.
