1. Introduction & Purpose

This Cookie Policy explains how Poorvam, together with its flagship publishing imprint Dhvani Publication and the Poorvam International Journal of Creative Arts and Cultural Expressions (PIJCACE), utilizes cookies, local storage identifiers, and related browser storage mechanisms. When you access our digital repository, research portals, or manuscript submission systems, cookies are used to provide authenticated security, maintain reading preferences, and measure scholarly telemetry in compliance with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC), and India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023.

2. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?

Cookies are small cryptographic text files placed on your computer, tablet, or mobile device by websites you visit. They are widely used by academic publishers to ensure platform security, maintain continuous sessions across multi-page research articles, authenticate peer-review actions, and remember user interface preferences. In addition to HTTP cookies, Poorvam may use browser localStorage to store non-sensitive visual preferences (such as your chosen light or dark reading mode).

3. Detailed Cookie Inventory

Poorvam groups cookies into four defined categories. You have complete control over non-essential categories:

Category A: Strictly Necessary Cookies

Always Active

These cookies are strictly required to operate the platform, safeguard against Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks, manage author and reviewer authentication sessions, and facilitate secure e-commerce and course checkout. Under GDPR Article 6(1)(f), these cookies do not require prior opt-in consent as they represent legitimate operational and security requirements.
