सायं प्रातर्मनुष्याणामशनं देवनिर्मितम् । नान्तरा भोजनं दृष्टमुपवासी तथा भवेत् ॥
English Scholarly Translation
Eating morning and evening is an ordinance of the gods. It is not sanctioned that one should eat at any intermediate period. He who cats according to this rule gains the merit of a fast.
