किं सौम्य नाभित्वरसे किं कृतार्थोऽवमन्यसे । छिन्धि पाशानमित्रघ्न पुरा श्वपच एति सः ॥
English Scholarly Translation
Seeing the mouse so slow in the work, the cat wishing to hurry it on, said-How is it, O amiable one, that you do not proceed quickly with your work? Do you disregard me now, having accomplished your own work? O slayer of foes, cut off these strings quickly! The hunter will soon come hereइत्युक्तस्त्वरता तेन मतिमान् पलितोऽब्रवीत्।
