यं जित्वा तप्यते पश्चादापन्न इव दुर्मतिः । कथं मन्येत विजयं ततो जिततरः परैः ॥
English Scholarly Translation
Having gained the victory, I am obliged to grieve as an afflicted wretch. How, can I consider it as a victory? In sooth, I have been doubly defeated by the enemy.
