तेषां च पार्थस्य महत्तदासी;द्देहासुपाप्मक्षपणं सुयुद्धम् । त्रैलोक्यहेतोरसुरैर्यथासी;द्देवस्य विष्णोर्जयतां वरस्य ॥
English Scholarly Translation
Then, there ensued, O sire, a mortal conflict between them (the train-bands of the Kaurava forces) and Partha, a conflict carrying death and destruction in its train to body, life and sin alike, like the great battle between the Asuras and Vishnu, the greatest of all great conquerors, for the (sovereignty of the) three worlds.
