How has the Bhagavad Gītā been read across philosophy, yoga, aesthetics and literature, and what does each reading do with its central call to act without clinging to the fruit of action?

Topic Moniker: Readings of the Gītā: Action, Knowledge and Practice

Research Scope & Pedagogical Framing
The Bhagavad Gītā is among the most commented-on texts in the world, yet it is rarely followed as a single question across disciplines. This project gathers Poorvam’s published work on the Gītā in one place: scholarly interpretation of niṣkāma karma, its reception in European philosophy, its place in yogic lineages such as Kriyā Yoga, and its echoes in the aesthetics and practice of Indian performance. It does not offer a new translation or a verse-by-verse commentary. It follows one question through essays, articles, talks and courses, so a reader can see how different traditions have used the same text for different ends. Scope: Poorvam’s own publications, from classical commentary to modern reception. Out of scope for now: passage-level citation tracking.
