मां दुष्टां ज्वलित-वपुः प्लुषाण वह्ने ! संरक्ष क्षत-मलिनां सुहृद्यथा वा ।एषाऽहं क्रतुषु वसोर्यथाऽऽज्य-धारा त्वां प्राप्ता विधि-वदुदीर्ण-दीप्ति-मालम् ॥

Karandikar:
Oh Fire of a blazing form, burn me out, (if I be) violated (Sullied); otherwise protect (me) like a friend (who is) disproved (to be) impure. Here, like the stream (trickle) of ghee for Vasu, have I, according to the prescribed rites, come to you who have shot out a garland of flames. ”
