Abstract

In this paper, I would re-examine the epistemic ground of momentariness and challenges posited by Orthodox schools of Indian Philosophy; moreover, I shall take the recourse to ontological method to delve into the contingency of collocation to allude the inherent structure of causality. Theory of Momentariness does not anticipate ‘effect’ as a novel schema, subsequently, it leads to the principle of śu̅ṇyata̅ or emptiness. The fundamental problem arises when collocations of actions or combinations of series are put together in accordance to the happenings, they bring a new set of collocation, insofar, antecedent, and consequent or cause and effect cannot be construed as mere coincidence. I would venture this endeavour to delve into the ‘logical connexion’ of momentariness from the perspective of Indian school of orthodoxy and its allied system.
