English Scholarly Translation
Your right eye, by virtue of its solar nature, produces the day. Your left eye, as lord of the night,
creates the night of three watches. Your third eye — with the lustre of a slightly-opened golden lotus —
establishes the twilight that moves between day and night.
व्याख्या / Traditional Commentary & Notes Classical Exegesis
【Title: The Three Eyes as Sun, Moon, and Twilight】 The three verbs are carefully differentiated: sūte (gives birth to, like a mother) for the solar right eye creating day; sṛjati (emits, projects outward) for the lunar left eye creating night; and samādhatte (holds in place, establishes with care) for the third eye establishing twilight. The choice of sūte — a specifically maternal creation-verb — for the right eye is not accidental: the sun is the right eye of the universal person (Puruṣa), but here the creating act is maternal (the Goddess as cosmic mother). The three verbs enact different modalities of her creative power.
