Our Mission

As an interdisciplinary platform, PIJCACE bridges creative practice and scholarly inquiry, offering a unique space for innovative research and cultural critique. To uphold our standards of rigorous peer review and international scholarship, we seek experts in the following specialized areas.

Required Areas of Expertise

• Aesthetics & Art Philosophy: Theoretical engagements with aesthetic judgment, perception, and the philosophy of art across historical and contemporary contexts.
• Art History & Historiography: Critical approaches to art historical narratives, including revisionist histories and methodological innovations in historiography.
• Musicology & Sound Studies: Interdisciplinary explorations of music, sound art, and auditory culture, encompassing ethnomusicology, sound studies, and performance analysis.
• Media, Technology & Digital Art Studies: Investigations into the intersections of art, media, and technology, including digital aesthetics, new media theory, and the impact of technological innovation on artistic practice.
• Museum, Curation & Heritage Studies: Theoretical and practical approaches to curation, museum studies, and cultural heritage preservation, with a focus on critical museology and exhibition strategies.
• Art & Society: Sociological and political analyses of art’s role in society, including studies on art and activism, cultural policy, and postcolonial critiques.
• Visual & Material Culture Studies: Anthropological and semiotic examinations of visual and material culture, exploring the social life of objects and the cultural significance of visual practices.
• Artistic Research & Practice-Based Studies: Methodological advancements in practice-led research, where artistic creation informs and intersects with scholarly inquiry.
• Feminist, Decolonial & Indigenous Aesthetic Discourses: Critical engagements with feminist theory, decolonial thought, and Indigenous perspectives in art and cultural studies, emphasizing inclusive and diverse frameworks.
• Semiotics & Phenomenology of Art: Theoretical explorations of meaning-making, perception, and embodied experience in art through semiotic and phenomenological lenses.

Role and Responsibilities

Editorial Board members are integral to PIJCACE’s mission of maintaining high academic standards and guiding the journal’s strategic direction. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting peer reviews of submitted manuscripts within your area of expertise.
• Offering insights and recommendations on journal policies and strategic initiatives.
• Promoting PIJCACE within academic and professional networks to enhance visibility and submissions.
• Participating in occasional editorial meetings to discuss journal developments and future directions.

We seek individuals passionate about advancing scholarly discourse in creative arts and cultural studies and committed to contributing actively to the journal’s growth.
