Еstimating the results of used hydrology models for determining the surface runoff in Agatovo dam

<jats:p>River inflow modeling in the world practice is a subject of long-term research. An important part of the economic exploitation of small dams are the models for predicting the inflow formed in rivers with small catchments and non-constant surface runoff. In the management of dams, a number of models are used to predict the inflow entering them. Choosing an appropriate simulation model is a key point in sustainable dam management. In Bulgaria, various adapted models for inflow simulations are applied, especially for large river basins and large dams. In this study, the NAM model of the Danish Hydrological Institute and the widely used in our country Prof. Gerasimov’s methodology for determining the characteristics of the maximum outflow of rivers in the absence of data are applied. The Agatovo dam, built in PI 00103.76.358, was chosen as a model area in this study. The results obtained show similarity between the simulated values and the observed inflow.</jats:p>
