Abstract
<jats:p>Generative artificial intelligence, and in particular ChatGPT, is finding increasingly wide application in engineering and technical practice. This paper presents a real-world case study of using ChatGPT in the development of a platform for digital building logbooks. ChatGPT assists in generating structure, styles, validation logic, and interface ideas, but it cannot replace human oversight and critical thinking. A common challenge is the lack of memory – humans must monitor, remind, and guide the process. Efficiency increases when goals are clearly defined and broken down into smaller steps. The presented case illustrates a new type of collaboration between expert and algorithm, applicable in the context of digitalization in the construction sector.</jats:p>
