Abstract
<jats:p>The history of the development of the Kalmakyr copper-porphyry deposit and the prerequisites for the formation of technogenic dumps of oxidized off-balance ore have been examined. It has been shown that long-term open-pit development of the deposit was accompanied by the selective storage of raw materials that did not meet the requirements of current flotation technology. Using dumps No 9 and No 39, the resource potential of accumulated ores containing copper, gold, and silver is characterized. The mineralogical and technological characteristics of oxidized raw materials, which limit the direct application of traditional sulfide flotation, have been analyzed. Promising development directions have been substantiated: geological and technological mapping of dumps, separate preparation of technological types, sulfuric acid bulk and tank leaching, combined schemes for extracting copper and noble metals, solution circulation, and digital process control. Laboratory experiments show that 75–80% of copper can be extracted during tank leaching, but industrial implementation requires enlarged testing, a closed material balance, and a technical-economic comparison of the variants.</jats:p>
