DISTANCE LEARNING – A NEW DIRECTION IN EDUCATION

<jats:p>This article provides an in-depth analysis of the essence, advantages, and the role of distance learning in the modern education system. With the rapid growth of digital and communication technologies, new opportunities for flexible and accessible education have emerged. Online platforms and e-learning tools have become essential components of teaching, allowing students to acquire knowledge at any time and from any place. The paper examines the mooc.oshsu.kg online portal of Osh State University as an example of successful implementation of distance education in Kyrgyzstan. The study highlights the platform’s contribution to improving students’ learning outcomes, promoting independent study habits, and modernizing teaching methodologies. Various forms of online learning such as webinars, video lessons, and interactive testing are discussed. The findings emphasize that distance learning represents a key direction for the future of education, requiring continued methodological, technical, and organizational support to ensure effectiveness and sustainability in the long term.</jats:p>
