METHODOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF THE INTRODUCTION THE CONCEPT OF GREEN IT IN A COMPUTER SCIENCE LESSON

<jats:p>This article discusses the methodological foundations of introducing the concept of green IT in a computer science lesson. In the modern era, information technology is deeply rooted in all areas of human life and plays a crucial role in the development of society. But along with technological development, environmental problems are getting worse, and issues such as increased energy consumption, data storage, and electronic waste pose an environmental threat on a global level. In these circumstances, the concept of "green IT" or "green IT" arose due to the need to form a culture of environmentally sustainable and responsible use of technology. The main purpose of the article is to identify ways and methodological approaches to teaching students the principles of green IT in computer science lessons. The main principles of the green IT concept are energy conservation, reduction of electronic waste, rational use of resources, effective management of information resources and the formation of a culture of environmental responsibility. When these principles are systematically integrated into the content of a computer science lesson, students learn to apply technology with environmental awareness. Project-based learning, research, interactive methods, and practical assignments were suggested as effective methods used to teach the concept of green IT. For example, with the help of mini-projects such as "Green School", "Clean Energy", "digital cleanliness", students study the relationship between real IT and the environment and practically master energy conservation and the proper use of digital resources. It was also suggested to use assessment criteria as methodological recommendations for teachers, to prepare information posters and digital manuals on environmental topics. As a result, the introduction of the concept of green IT in computer science lessons is an innovative and relevant area in the education system that combines environmental culture and digital literacy. It promotes the formation of the younger generation as responsible, environmentally conscious and able to use technology for the sustainable development of a citizen.</jats:p>
