Abstract
<jats:p>This article examines, on the basis of historical-statistical analysis, the formation process, social composition, and quantitative indicators of the Uzbek (Turkistani) diaspora in the Republic of Turkey over the long historical period from the sixteenth to the early twenty-first century. Through a comparative-critical analysis of archival documents, official statistical data (in particular, the Turkish Statistical Institute — TÜİK — and the Directorate General of Migration Management — Göç İdaresi) and historical-scientific literature, the article reveals the migration waves of the diaspora, its occupational and social stratification, the formation of its intellectual elite, and the strategies employed to preserve national identity. The findings scientifically substantiate the reasons behind the discrepancies in quantitative indicators (ranging from 20,000 to 170,000 people) reported in different sources across different periods.</jats:p>
