Abstract

This article examines the development of students’ critical thinking skills through the application of problem-based learning technologies in teaching the course “Pedagogical Technologies.” In contemporary higher education, it is important for students not only to acquire established knowledge but also to develop the ability to analyze problematic situations, compare arguments, draw independent conclusions, and make pedagogical decisions. The study identifies the theoretical and methodological potential of problem-based learning, the stages of designing problem situations within the Pedagogical Technologies course, and the criteria for developing students’ critical thinking skills. It also proposes a methodology for applying such methods as problem-based questions, case studies, brainstorming, problem-based discussions, debates, and reflection to foster critical thinking. The findings indicate that the systematic use of problem-based learning technologies contributes to the development of students’ analytical, evaluative, argumentative, and independent thinking skills.
