<jats:p>The article analyzes pedagogical and methodological opportunities for developing students’ written communicative competence in English lessons through artificial intelligence tools. It examines the use of generative AI for idea generation, text planning, revision, identification of grammatical and lexical errors, and individualized feedback. The principles of using artificial intelligence as a supportive pedagogical tool while preserving students’ independent writing activity are substantiated. A methodological model for the gradual development of students’ writing competence is proposed.</jats:p>
