DETERMINATION OF RISK FACTORS AND THEIR DEGREE OF INFLUENCE ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMPLICATIONS AFTER SURGICAL TREATMENT OF LIVER ECHINOCOCCUS

<jats:p>&lt;p&gt;Echinococcosis of the liver remains one of the most difficult forms of parasitic diseases in surgery, especially in endemic regions where the frequency of postoperative complications remains high. The aim of the study was to identify key risk factors for postoperative complications in the surgical treatment of liver echinococcosis and to assess their statistical and clinical significance in a large sample of patients. Materials and methods. The study included 746 patients who underwent echinococcectomy in the Khorezm region from 2020 to 2025. 48 morphological, anatomical, clinical, laboratory, and organizational features were analyzed. Results. Complications were recorded in 25.9% of patients, including 4.9% of severe complications. The size of the cyst ≥10 cm increased the risk of complications to 43.2% (p&amp;lt;0.001), and multiple cysts increased the risk to 53.9%. Intraparenchymal location and contact with major structures (inferior vena cava - 76.6%, hepatic vein - 70.9%) were significantly associated with complications. Conclu­sion. For the first time, a comprehensive analysis of the risk factors for complications after echinococcectomy was conducted on such a large sample. 31 significantly relevant predictors of complications were identified, including anatomical, morphological, and organizational parameters. The obtained data can serve as a basis for creating a prognostic scale that enhances the safety of surgical intervention and the effectiveness of individualized therapy for liver echinococcosis.&lt;/p&gt;</jats:p>
