القبيلة اليمنية بين أصالة التاريخ والتفكيك الحوثي: دراسة في التحولات السياسية والاستراتيجية

<jats:p>This study examines the historical, political, and strategic transformations of the Yemeni tribe in the context of the ongoing war and the rise of the Houthi movement since 2014. It argues that the tribe has not been merely a traditional social structure or a military ally, but one of the central arenas in the struggle over statehood, legitimacy, and social authority in Yemen. The study analyzes the Houthis’ tools for reshaping tribal structures, including the targeting of traditional leaders, the production of new loyalist elites, the replacement of customary authority with ideological hierarchy, and the re-engineering of tribal identity. It also explores the political economy of tribal loyalty, the persistence of tribal mobilization through the concept of nakaf, and the implications of war for the tribe’s social structure. The study concludes by proposing strategic pathways for rebuilding the relationship between tribe and state within a national framework based on equal citizenship, rule of law, local governance, development, and the restoration of state institutions.</jats:p>
