Abstract

This article explores the functional and pragmatic characteristics of speech acts in literary discourse from an anthropocentric perspective. The study examines the role of speech acts in expressing communicative intentions, shaping interpersonal relationships between literary characters, and constructing artistic images within literary texts. It argues that the meaning of speech units is determined not only by their linguistic form but also by the speaker’s communicative intention, the speech situation, and the human factor. Drawing on the principles of pragmalinguistics and anthropocentric linguistics, the article reveals the functional potential of speech acts in literary discourse.
