Abstract

<jats:p>The article presents a comparative analysis of the linguocultural and pragmatic features of compliments in Uzbek and English literary texts. The study examines 40 examples of compliments using pragmatic-discursive, contextual, comparative-typological, and quantitative methods. The results show that Uzbek compliments are characterized mainly by moral and spiritual values and indirect forms of expression, whereas English compliments tend to emphasize individual qualities and direct evaluation. The findings of the study can be applied in language teaching and intercultural communication.</jats:p>
