Abstract
<jats:p>The article focuses on preparing students of pedagogical higher education institutions for innovative activity in the context of educational modernization. It examines the concepts of competence and competency, as well as the role of innovative and digital competencies in the professional training of future teachers. Particular attention is paid to information and communication competence and digital literacy as essential conditions for successful professional performance in contemporary society. The study emphasizes that digital competence and digital competency constitute important structural components of innovative competence and play a significant role in preparing future educators for effective work in a digitally transformed educational environment.</jats:p>
