<jats:p>National-cultural units are interpreted as cultural codes embodying the historical memory, value system, worldview, customs, way of life, and spiritual experience of a particular nation. Translation is considered not merely as the transfer of linguistic units from one language into another, but as a philosophical dialogue between different cultural worlds, value systems, and modes of thinking. Particular attention is paid to the translation of culture-specific realities, ethnocultural concepts, phraseological units, religious and spiritual representations, national customs, and traditions found in French and Uzbek literary texts. The study also addresses the interpretative activity of the translator and the translator’s role as a mediator between cultures in preserving national identity, cultural memory, and the axiological content of the original text. The philosophical significance of literary translation is substantiated through its role in understanding national identity, promoting intercultural dialogue, and harmonizing national and universal human values.</jats:p>
