Abstract
<jats:p>The article presents the effect of MicroDEF and NitroDEF defoliants on leaf shedding, boll opening, and boll opening rate in cotton varieties S-4727 and Mangit-1 grown under meadow-alluvial soil conditions in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Application rates of 6.0, 7.0, and 8.0 L/ha were compared with the standard Liquid HMD defoliant. The highest efficacy was mainly observed with MicroDEF and NitroDEF at a rate of 7.0 L/ha. The results indicate that these application rates are promising for ensuring rapid and uniform boll opening in cotton.</jats:p>
