Abstract

This article presents a comprehensive analysis of the theoretical and methodological foundations for the use of the digital educational environment and innovative resources in library and information education in the context of national and international experience. The main research problem is defined as the current state of using digital educational resources (DER) in the system of library and information education, especially in teaching the course “Cataloguing and Classification,” as well as their didactic potential, methodological support, and practical effectiveness. The study applies analytical, comparative, descriptive, and generalizing methods. On this basis, the digital educational infrastructure of Uzbekistan, the functional capabilities of national educational platforms, and the advanced experience of foreign countries are examined. The findings show that the use of real catalogue databases, electronic assignments, forums, e-learning modules, online laboratories, and tools such as RDA Toolkit contributes to improving the effectiveness of teaching the course “Cataloguing and Classification.” At the same time, the study reveals that specialized DERs in this field are not sufficiently developed in Uzbekistan. The scientific and practical significance of the research lies in the systematization of the theoretical and methodological foundations of using DERs in library and information education, as well as in the development of recommendations for the introduction of effective digital tools and the improvement of methodological support for teaching “Cataloguing and Classification.”
