Experimental Validation of the Effectiveness of the Model for the Formation of Competence in Developing English-language Information and Analytical Documents of Future Masters of National Security

<jats:p>The article presents the results of a pedagogical experiment, the purpose of which is to check the effectiveness of the author's model of the formation of future masters in the field of "National Security" competence in the development of English-language information and analytical documents (IAD). Research methods include questionnaires, testing, analysis, mathematical and statistical data processing.The relevance of the study is due to the need to increase the level of professional training of specialists in the field of national security, who, despite a sufficient general level of language proficiency, often demonstrate a low ability to create English-language IADs. The experimental study was conducted in three stages: preparatory and organizational, implementation phase (formative stage) and analytical and final stage during 2023–2026. The experiment involved 20 adult students, divided into control (CG) and experimental (EG) groups (10 people in each). During the preparatory stage, a questionnaire and testing were conducted, which revealed a predominantly low and insufficient level of formation of the target competence in both groups. At the implementation stage, the CG studied according to the traditional program, while the EG implemented the author's model. The assessment was carried out according to four criteria: structural and organizational compliance, linguistic compliance, adherence to the official style and content-semantic completeness. The results of the post-experimental control demonstrated a significant increase in the average score in the EG, while the dynamics remained minimal in the CG. To confirm the reliability of the results, the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U-criterion was used. The obtained empirical value turned out to be significantly less than the critical one, which allowed us to reject the research hypothesis and prove the effectiveness of the proposed model with high reliability. The study confirmed that the author's approach, which synthesizes competency-based, experiential, synergistic, and andragogical principles, is statistically significantly superior to traditional teaching. Based on the results of the experiment, a methodology for developing competence in the development of English-language IADs was developed and proposed for adoption in higher education institutions.</jats:p>
