Abstract
The Chin-Up and Pull-Up: A Complete Mechanical Decision Science (Global Reference Edition) is a comprehensive reference on vertical pulling, treating the chin-up and pull-up as a mechanical decision science rather than descriptive anatomy. Across 120 chapters in ten parts it develops the physics of vertical pulling — torque, moment arms, ground reaction force and tissue tolerance — the joint-by-joint mechanics of the shoulder complex, trunk and grip, a complete muscle and tissue atlas, phase and technique analysis, progression from beginner to advanced, assessment and correction, pain and return-to-load, and programming by goal and population. A companion set of twenty two-page variation cards maps, for each grip and style, the specific muscular weakness behind every common fault and its correction. The work is illustrated throughout with real-human figure demonstrations and is released open access under CC BY 4.0.
