<jats:p>The article presents the thermal balance of a flat two-channel solar air heater in which the lower channel is used as a recuperative heat recovery unit. Owing to recuperative heat recovery, the thermal output of the solar air heater is increased and its 'idle time' in the absence of solar radiation is eliminated.</jats:p>
