<jats:p>In this article, experiments were conducted on methods for synthesizing demulsifiers with high-performance polymer properties based on hydroxy polyethylene glycol (HPEG). The effectiveness of the synthesized demulsifier in breaking oil-water emulsions was studied. Nowadays, breaking emulsions formed during oil production and refining is a very complex process. As part of scientific research, surfactants were synthesized by modifying the hydrophilic chains of HPEG with a number of hydrophobic components. The synthesized demulsifier was applied to an oil sample and its effectiveness in separating water from the oil was studied. In addition, the chemical composition and molecular structure of the demulsifier were studied and analyzed using IR spectroscopy. SEM analysis methods.</jats:p>
