<jats:p>Abstract Within the topic of candidate selection theory and methodology, the candidate selection process, selection methods, and formal requirements in many countries were studied and determined on the example of the Mongolian People's Party. There are 4 measurements (level of accessibility, level of decentralization, and level of decision-making) that evaluate party nomination procedures. According to the rules of the MPP, candidate selection is centralized, and vertical decision-making is more prevalent, which shows that gender equality can be solved through policy. Technocratic methods are used in candidate selection, enabling scientific decisionmaking and allowing party leadership to avoid subjective bias. According to the research, regardless of ethnicity, religion and gender, voters attach more importance to the professional skills, experience and education level of a politician. Selection methods are classified according to the level of accessibility or coverage (voters; party members; party representatives; party elite; single leader). The MPP signs a memorandum with a member who has applied for candidacy to the Parliament, and based on sociological research, it is discussed by the party-level organization submitted to the party's Board, and confirmed by the Congress, which is the highest governing body of the party. If we look at the official requirements for candidates, the Constitution of Mongolia guarantees the right of its citizens to vote and be elected, and it is regulated by the Law on Elections of the Great Khural of Mongolia, the Law on Political Parties, and the rules of the MPP.</jats:p>
