<jats:p>The textbook is designed to hone students’ skills in analyzing authentic texts, expressing thoughts, structuring and backing up one’s viewpoint in a debating format, deepening knowledge in the fi eld of critical literacy and critical thinking. The textbook consists of 5 lessons and contains practical tasks such as series of questions for discussion, lexico-grammatical tasks aimed at consolidating the active vocabulary of the course, authentic texts for analysis, reasoning and refl ection, video materials, theoretical and practical materials for self-study and preparation for the fi nal debates. For upper-intermediate students studying English as a fi rst or a second foreign language.</jats:p>
