Abstract
<jats:p>The monograph examines the evolution and genesis of modern international settlement relations. It elucidates the current state of theoretical and practical aspects concerning the functioning of national and international payment systems. The determinants of the development of the settlement and payment market are analyzed, along with the impact of digital technologies and the geopolitical factor on its transformation. Key trends and challenges in the establishment of cross-border payments are explored. Particular attention is paid to the development of Russia’s payment system, which is undergoing significant changes both in its domestic and external dimensions.
