Abstract
<jats:p>What constitutes a polycrisis and how can lived experiences of those displaced in South Asia develop our understanding of its association with migration?People fleeing emerging and evolving circumstances, such as environmental, humanitarian, economic, political and social crises, are often not considered as forcibly displaced. Through ethnographic fieldwork and participatory interviews with displaced people in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the Maldives, A Complex Knot explores the origins of these crises, demonstrating the necessity to redefine "forced migration" beyond the existing framework.Mapping the contours of polycrisis, crisis migration, and policy responses, this book is ideal reading for students of Refugee Studies, Migration studies, Human Geography, Asian Studies, and Politics, as well as policy makers.</jats:p>
