<jats:p>This article examines the peculiarities of the functioning of emotional and expressive vocabulary in the historical novels of Ilyas Yesenberlin. The aim of the study is to identify the specific features of the use of emotional and expressive lexical units in the writer’s historical novels and to determine their stylistic functions within the literary text. The object of the research comprises linguistic units characterized by emotional and expressive colouring in the author’s historical works. Particular attention is paid to their role in the construction of character images, the depiction of historical events, and the expression of the author’s viewpoint. The study employs descriptive, semantic, and contextual analysis, as well as linguostylistic and historical-comparative methods. The findings reveal the extensive use of colloquial and coarse vernacular vocabulary that generates emotional and expressive effects, phraseological units, forms of address, archaisms, dialectal elements, and such stylistic devices as oxymoron and alogism. It is demonstrated that these linguistic means play a significant role in portraying characters’ personalities, psychological states, social environments, and the distinctive features of a particular historical period. The study also highlights the importance of expressive vocabulary in creating images of historical figures, reflecting the spiritual identity of the people, and conveying national consciousness and patriotic sentiments. The results indicate that emotional and expressive vocabulary in Yesenberlin’s works functions as an important stylistic device that not only provides an artistic representation of historical reality but also exerts a powerful emotional impact on the reader. The findings may be applied in further research on literary text linguistics, stylistics, linguopoetics, and the language of the historical novel. In conclusion, emotional and expressive vocabulary in the works of Ilyas Yesenberlin is shown to be an essential means of artistically representing historical reality, expressing the national worldview, and influencing the reader.</jats:p>
