A educação para a cidadania e para a sustentabilidade

<jats:p>His article examines and assesses a document published last year on the civic education of Brazilian students. Its main objective is to propose its reformulation, supported by appropriate theoretical frameworks and successful experiences from other countries. It consists of a history of the relevant legislation, an analysis of some key indicators of the desired student profile, and arguments that dismantle this aspiration. The fundamental conclusion drawn is that this document should be modified to include active citizenship as a guiding principle of civic education.</jats:p>
