Abstract
This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the impact of food price inflation on the food security of the population based on economic theory, international scientific literature, and the experience of Uzbekistan. The theoretical framework of the article consists of the key dimensions of food security, including food availability, economic and physical access to food, stability, and the biological utilization and absorption of food products. The article theoretically substantiates that food inflation affects food security by reducing the real purchasing power of the population, changing the structure of food consumption, forcing households to reduce their consumption of healthy diets, and increasing the vulnerability of low-income households to food security risks. In the article, food security is assessed in terms of the availability of food products, economic and physical access to food, the quality and nutritional value of consumed food, and the stability of these conditions over time. The FAO report published in 2025 notes that high food inflation reduces the purchasing power of the population, limits access to healthy diets, and contributes to weakening food security.
