<jats:p>The main objectives of the RA criminal justice system are to carry out effective proceedings on alleged crimes by guaranteeing individual rights and freedoms, uncovering crimes, fairly punishing those who have committed a criminal act, and releasing innocent people from criminal liability. Today, as the legal system continues to evolve and undergo reforms, the problem of improving the quality of evidence in the judicial process becomes urgent, but it is more than important that when conducting criminal proceedings, the judicial system acts in such a way that the citizen is confident that justice will be restored. The clarification of the limits of proof determines which issues should be clarified in a particular criminal case, whether they may relate to the existence of a crime, the identity of the perpetrator, or circumstances precluding liability. These limitations directly affect the process of collecting and evaluating evidence, and at the same time, defining sufficiency criteria allows us to understand when we can consider the evidence presented in this particular case to be sufficient to make a final decision. An important role in this direction is played by the approaches formed by the Court of Cassation, according to which the availability of sufficient evidence implies overcoming the presumption of innocence and the formation of an internal conviction based on objective facts, which leads to the final judicial act. Thus, we can state that evidence in criminal proceedings is aimed at clarifying certain circumstances, namely circumstances of a criminal law and criminal procedure nature, which are subject to clarification in each criminal case. When determining the range of circumstances to be proved in specific cases, the norms of criminal law are of fundamental importance, which define the responsibility of accomplices, the multiplicity of crimes, and the qualification of crimes committed, which will establish the truth in criminal cases.</jats:p>
