Abstract
<jats:p>The purpose of the study is to increase the effectiveness of the training process aimed at developing coordination abilities in ITF Taekwondo-Do through the use of proprioceptively-oriented exercises. Research methods: analysis and generalization of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical experiment, methods of mathematical processing of the obtained data. Research results and conclusions. The obtained data demonstrated the effectiveness of the implemented set of proprioceptive-oriented exercises on various components of coordination abilities in young taekwondo practitioners. The greatest increase in indicators was observed during the performance of the modified Romberg test. Improvement in shuttle run results indicates an increase in the level of dynamic coordination, the ability to quickly switch motor actions, and precise control of body movements when changing direction. In the context of taekwondo, these qualities are directly related to the effectiveness of mastering technical-tactical actions, as they ensure more accurate execution of movements, timely adjustment of stances, and a rational combination of offensive and defensive actions in a bout. The average number of accurate hits in the "small ball throwing at the target" test increased by the end of the experiment. It has been proven that the systematic use of exercises aimed at developing proprioception allows for the improvementof sensorimotor mechanisms underlying the accuracy of throwing actions. Altogether, this creates prerequisites for more effective mastery and execution of technical elements in competitive settings. The obtained results allow us to ascertain that the use of proprioceptively-oriented exercises in the training process of children aged 7-9 engaged in taekwondo contributes to a significant increase in indicators of coordination abilities.</jats:p>
