ELEVATOR CONTROL SYSTEM USING PLC

<jats:p>Elevator systems are an essential part of modern multi-storey buildings, requiring high reliability, safety, and efficient control. Traditional relay-based elevator controllers suffer from complex wiring, limited flexibility, and difficult maintenance. This paper presents the design and implementation of an automatic elevator control system using a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programmed with ladder logic. The proposed system controls elevator movement, floor selection, door operation, and safety interlocks in a structured and reliable manner. The PLC-based approach improves system flexibility, reduces wiring complexity, and enhances operational safety. The developed model is suitable for educational purposes as well as small- to medium-scale real-time elevator applications.</jats:p>
