It Takes an Ecosystem: The Role of Convening Organisations, Local Legacies, and Partnerships in Shaping the Future of Education

<jats:p>HundrED partnered with Remake Learning to explore and learn more about successful education ecosystems. The project focused on the ecosystems of four very different cities across the globe: Pittsburgh, USA; Bogotá, Colombia; Doncaster, England; and Nairobi, Kenya. Through an examination of the similarities and differences in practices, we revealed some shared insights and came to a better understanding of how, and to what degree, these cities enable collaboration across schools, community organisations, cultural institutions, and informal learning spaces. What we discovered through our research strengthened some of what we already know: context is a factor in the success of an educational ecosystem, but so is the power of the convener combined with the work of local actors who see their shared purpose in making meaningful connections between learning and life.</jats:p>
