Abstract
<p>Islamic sciences emerged to explore and interpret religious texts. Taʾwīl serves as a foundational principle of interpretation and religious thought. This book offers a systematic, comparative, and analytical study of taʾwīl, its diverse methods, forms, and applications. It examines key positions of major Islamic schools in both classical and modern contexts and traces the historical development of taʾwīl’s methods and practices. By reflecting on the connection between the two eras, taʾwīl is approached as a methodological framework. A central aim is to explore new readings of the Qur'an, accompanied by a renewed understanding of the Islamic message and methodology. The study also offers interdisciplinary insights into contemporary Islamic scholarship.</p>
