Abstract
<p>Against the background of changing social needs and increasing pressure on established institutions, Pauline Strunk analyses the potential of social cooperatives and their function in the social system. In addition to the legal framework, the author includes key actors in the social system and current social trends in her comprehensive analysis and assesses them in terms of their potential to inhibit or promote entrepreneurial performance. Building on this, the author discusses the role and function of social cooperatives in the economic and social system, making a valuable contribution to the current debate on the future role of cooperatives.</p>
