<jats:p>SUMMARY Following the resettlement of the Crimean Armenians, Hovsep Argutyan initiated extensive church construction in New Nakhichevan and its surrounding areas, seeking not only to preserve their spiritual and cultural life, but also to promote their adaptation and cohesion in their new homeland. Through his efforts, around twenty Armenian churches were founded.</jats:p>
