Effects of Devaluation/Depreciation of the Value of Naira on the Nigerian Economy (2015-2024)

<jats:p>The study which covered the period spans 2015 to 2024 examined the effect of depreciation of naira on economic growth of Nigeria. The specific objectives of the study were to: examine the effect of depreciation of Naira on Exchange rate, inflation rate and interest rate in the economic growth of Nigeria. The data for this study was obtained from the central Bank of Nigeria statistical Bulletin covering the period (2015-2024). The economic tools of analyses were correction and regression analysis. The study reveals that currency depreciation has impacted negatively on Nigeria Economic growth. Based on the findings and subsequent conclusion, the study recommends among others that the government should formulate polices that will reduce depreciation and make foreign exchange market more active and stable over time.</jats:p>
