Abstract

<jats:p>This publication on open educational resource localisation aims to guide educators and educational institutions in making open educational resources more relevant, inclusive and usable across diverse contexts through localisation. It explains localisation as more than translation, highlighting the need to adapt content to local languages, cultures, knowledge systems, learning environments and pedagogical practices. The guide introduces key principles, strategies, barriers and supports for open educational resource localisation, including collaboration, institutional policy, design thinking and cautious use of AI, encouraging practical steps towards equitable access and meaningful participation in education.</jats:p>
