Operational control conditions in the experience of tactical commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

<ns3:p>&lt;p&gt;This paper describes the specific conditions of the functioning of the brigade-level Tactical Operations Centre (TOC) of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the basis of available accounts of Ukrainian officers trained in Poland as part of the European Union Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine). The scope of the research amounts to analysis and synthesis of data that answers the fundamental question of the challenges faced by Ukrainian tactical commanders at the operations control phase and the lessons to be learned on that by the Polish Armed Forces. In addition, two supporting research questions were formulated. Several research methods were applied within the framework of the thesis, hypothesis and antithesis developed, i.e. abstraction by isolation, analysis (functional, structural, logical and systemic), comparison, synthesis, inference and the monographic method. Conducting the research described in the paper made it possible to concisely characterise the evolutionary elements of the functioning of the Tactical Operations Centre, the nature of operations carried out by Ukrainian TOC officers, and to present conclusions and recommendations for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland and NATO Member State forces.&lt;/p&gt;</ns3:p>
