Pendekatan Militeristik dalam Komunikasi Politik: Studi Kasus Gaya Kepemimpinan dan Pola Intruksi Sekertaris Kabinet

<jats:p>This study analyzes Teddy Indra Wijaya’s communication style and leadership as Cabinet Secretary within the context of governmental political communication. It employs a case study method with a qualitative descriptive approach to gain an in-depth understanding of communication patterns, leadership style, and the meanings embedded in bureaucratic governance practices. The theoretical concept used is Ramlan Surbakti’s theory of legitimacy, which views legitimacy as public acceptance and recognition of government authority, decisions, and policies. Based on this framework, communication that is firm, structured, and hierarchical is understood not only as a mechanism for delivering instructions, but also as an effort to build work order, strengthen cabinet coordination, and maintain public recognition of governmental authority. The findings show that Teddy’s communication style tends to be bureaucratic and top-down, with implications for political message control, internal consolidation, and the formation of an image of a responsive and controlled government. These findings indicate that in strategic office, political communication serves as an important instrument for strengthening institutional legitimacy and maintaining public trust in the government.</jats:p>
