<jats:p>The Sisian region, an inseparable part of the historic province of Syunik, is distinguished by its complex mountainous terrain, which in turn has created serious challenges for the stable and balanced development of the economy and communication routes. From a strategic and defensive perspective, however, this circumstance has had an important, positive and primary significance for the region. Due to the highly disconnected physical-geographical character of the terrain, serious difficulties in communication, both between neighboring historical districts and among individual settlements within the region, have, at various times, led to the emergence of engineering structures, particularly bridges. This article examines the nature and distinctive features of a bridge built in the early second half of the 19th century, known as the Tangi Bridge, which remains in operation to this day, as well as its construction inscriptions. Certain aspects of the construction and patriotic activities of Melik-Tangi II, are discussed, with attention given to their role and significance.</jats:p>
